Sexual Intercourse with Robots, the Future, and a Caveat.

by Anselm

First, the caveat. There comes a time in every blog’s life where tough decisions need to be made. Since the sub-purpose of Unholy Nation is to find further evidence of societal decay, some stories covered here will be awful.

CBS Las Vegas is reporting that some Australian researchers are claiming that in the future, sex robots will replace conventional brothels. Beware of the comments below the article, as they contain some questionable material. Actually, beware of the whole article because it’s just that awful. But then you ask me, “oh Unholy Nation why do you bring it up?”

The content in the article is seriously sick, but it points to some interesting points about how the world is interpreting the purpose of sexual activity.

One of the notable quotations from the article is that:

“One of the benefits of sex robots is that they remove exploitation of women from the equation, and the sex trade of underage [partners],” Hines added. “Underage women are exploited to meet the desires of others, whereas with the robots, there is no exploitation of anyone.”

Except the user, the producer of the device, and the society writ large.  Wait, that sounds familiar.

(CCC 2354): Pornography consists in removing real or simulated sexual acts from the intimacy of the partners, in order to display them deliberately to third parties. It offends against chastity because it perverts the conjugal act, the intimate giving of spouses to each other. It does grave injury to the dignity of its participants (actors, vendors, the public), since each one becomes an object of base pleasure and illicit profit for others. It immerses all who are involved in the illusion of a fantasy world. It is a grave offense. Civil authorities should prevent the production and distribution of pornographic materials.

Emphasis mine.

This is the classic case of ignoring the root problem of sexual exploitation and disordered sexuality.
